DESCRIPTION:Nashville is celebrating Dolly Parton on September 25\, and we’re joining the celebration at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage!\nDolly has a special connection to The Hermitage. In 1976\, she filmed an episode of her syndicated television variety show\, Dolly\, at The Hermitage\, including a performance of “The Battle of New Orleans” in front of the Mansion. On Dolly Day\, guests can explore the places connected to her visit and discover more about the history of music at The Hermitage.\n\nStand Where Dolly Stood\nFor one day only\, the Hermitage balcony—normally reserved for VIP tours—will be open to all guests. Step onto the balcony where Dolly stood during filming and see the Mansion from her vantage point.\n\nMusic at The Hermitage\nJoin special gallery talks at 10:30 a.m.\, 11:30 a.m.\, and 1 p.m. in the Born for a Storm exhibition in the Andrew Jackson Center. These talks will explore the history of music at The Hermitage and the musical connections found throughout the site.\n\nA Special Guitar Display\nFor Dolly Day\, Sarah York Jackson’s guitar\, normally displayed in the Mansion’s Back Parlor\, will be brought together with the Old Hickory Gibson guitar in the Born for a Storm exhibition.
