Crowds are the main thing to plan around:
Saturdays are busiest — traffic near the entrance can back up in the afternoon.
Friday afternoon and Sunday are calmer, with easier parking and shorter lines.
Early arrivals beat the rush on any day; the closing weekend opens at 9 AM daily.
Late afternoon into golden hour is the prettiest light for photos.
